Dark Sparks
FIAT LVX! Only light is omnipresent and eternal. Science now confirms what the alchemists knew centuries ago that it is more than metaphorical. The meaning of Life is Light. Absolute Light, archetypal divine fire, radiates from the Tree of Life as the vital formative principle. The light of earth and heaven, the animating power, mingle in our consciousness. The Light fulfills us and we are fulfilled in its revelation. It shines through us.
Behold the natural light of natural philosophy. As Homo Lumen we consciously cultivate and realize the Body of Light. Alchemy is the sensuous science through which we love that natural light into being, even as Lumen Naturae kindles ourselves. The light is our connection to all that is wholly existant. In fact, there is nothing else but this light of grace and glory that complements the celestial light. Mending this division makes us whole.
The full force of the clear Light of the Divine would blind us, but it is mediated by the Lux Naturae which is always with us. Only in this new millennium have we learned just how literal it is. Light is hidden in matter and the forces of nature, so you must seek and see it for yourself. We must cultivate it like an artist.
In the One World of alchemy, inner and outer light are identical, seamlessly wed. The light within life is our own awareness, mediated by our energy bodies (field body) which fills each particle of being. Direct communication is healing, realigning body and soul. We finally come to our senses. When we sit in meditation we come to know the meaning of scintillae and the light of the darkness. We see it gleaming beyond the Abyss that distinguishes being from nondual unmanifest existence.
Matter is composed of and utterly dependent on organic light that fills the universe and our bodies. The Great Work is an operation of Light. This light has an earthly and spiritual aspect, psychosomatic and archetypal nature. This meaningful light of our own darkness is the holy Grail, the diamond Stone, the curative Elixir that links our ego-experience and spiritual unity. Self-knowledge is the science of Creation.

Re: Lumen Naturae
Thu, April 16, 2009 - 10:18 AMIn one of their novels, the Gears included a line that struck a chord with me, "The end of the universe is near and only those whose bodies are made of light will survive it." That is as close as I can come to it, but I'm sure I have misquoted, since I simply can't remember the exact quote. I believe I have the essence of it.
And in the Gnostic Mass, Crowley includes a great line in the Priest's solar invocation. I will give the entire (brief) invocation, with the relevant line emphasized: "Thou that art One, our Lord in the Universe, the Sun, our Lord in ourselves whose name is Mystery of Mystery, uttermost being whose radiance enlightening the worlds, is also the breath that maketh every God even and Death to tremble before thee--by the Sign of Light appear thou glorious upon the throne of the Sun.
"Make open the path of creation and of intelligence between us and our minds. Enlighten our understanding. Encourage our hearts. LET THY LIGHT CRYSTALLIZE ITSELF IN OUR BLOOD, FULFILLING US OF RESURRECTION."
In this last line, I see an echo of the one in the novel quoted above. And I was told in a meditation once that Light is the driving force of the universe that powers the expansion of space and the advancement of time. Putting all these together and meditating on them, I see the outline of a doctrine that covers the complete range of mystical thought. Those who are the heirs of eternal life are those who have pursued the alchemical task of transforming their blood, flesh, soul and thought into pure light, the light of spirit. I feel this is the task we have before us in our mundane lives, with alchemy as our guide and teacher. Those who complete the task will emerge from the world as immortal spirits of light. And those who do not, but make significant progress, I believe, will at minimum undergo a transformation, perhaps a rebirth to have time to complete the transformation. Light is the only immortal principle of the universe. It travels from its source into the vastness of space, but light itself is neither created nor destroyed. It may freeze into matter for a time, but it will eventually be released as matter decays. Only if we can become entirely composed of light will we attain to eternal life and universal consciousness.
Or at least, this is my current take on these questions. Any additional input, whether in support or in disagreement will be welcome.
It is always possible I am getting carried away with poetic metaphor, but currently I feel this very strongly as a definite truth.
"And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not." (John 1:5)
Light will always defeat the darkness of the world. In this is the secret of the Great Work, the Summum Bonum, True Wisdom and Perfect Happiness. (comprehend = apprehend, Gr. katalambano, "to lay hold of", to grasp, to seize, in John 1:5, to perceive mentally.) Hence, darkness will never be able to see the light. Light is invisible to darkness, which explains perfectly why those who are prisoners of darkness scoff at the idea of light; to them it must be a fiction since they are unable to see it or imagine it. The theme is echoed throughout the writings of all prophets, seers, oracles, magicians and alchemists once we start looking. "And God said, Let there be light," on the first day.

yes, the concept is the same as the Diamond Body in alchemy and the Vajrayana Buddhism -- the Diamond vehicle persists.

Re: Lumen Naturae
Tue, April 21, 2009 - 12:02 PMOh my! Thank you for sharing. The vajra body has been coming up in my awareness over the last week or so... Trying to look at choices in terms of what builds/reveals the vajra body, and what degrades/obscures it. I will happily read your writings on the "Photonic Human."
As I have said before, thank you for sharing!

Re: Lumen Naturae
Fri, April 17, 2009 - 1:51 AMWell put I could not agree more you have it.This light shines greater than any living thing and is apart of all and within life and is the power behind our souls and links us to the divine once this is understood you need no more rituals because it sees with your eyes and hears your voice. It gets better once this door gets fully open'd and its nice this new era is revealing itself slowly and the things it will show to the people who seek it.
