i have!...once. on the day that a friend gave me a videotape copy of the jazz musician Sun Ra's movie Space Is The Place, i also found the book The Morning of The Magicians by Louis Pauwels & Jacques Bergier in a used book store, particularly interested in the section on alchemy. i should back up & mention that Sun Ra maintained that he was an entity who incarnated on Earth from Saturn. (whether he meant this literally or metaphorically i can't say.)...so i bought the aforementioned book, & you can imagine my astonishment when i turned to part 5 of the alchemy section & read this passage: "the old alchemical texts affirm that the keys to the secrets of matter are to be found in Saturn. by a strange coincidence, eveerything we know tyoday in nuclear physics is based on a definition of a "saturnian" atom. according to Nagasoka & Rutherford, the atom is a central mass exercising an attraction surrounded by rings of revolving electrons."

Sat, June 16, 2007 - 7:17 PMhere's another! yesterday afternoon while riding the bus, a man got on board who wore a teeshirt printed with the periodic table of elements. then in the evening of the same day, i watched a movie (The Holy Mountain) which included a scene involving a chart of...the periodic table of elements! -

Re: have you had alchemy-related synchronicities?
Mon, June 18, 2007 - 7:23 AMIt seems that from the moment I sent an alchemical intention for my spiritual evolution, my life has been a constant source of reflected 'synchronicities'~so much so it has now become 'life' and how I interact with my illusion. -

Re: have you had alchemy-related synchronicities?
Thu, May 1, 2008 - 9:05 AMyesterday i picked up the current issue of Fortean Times magazine which has an article on underground journalist Art Kunkin (founder of the Los Angeles Free Press) particularly focusing on the fact that he now seeks longevity by way of alchemical elixirs...and on that same day i bought a chocolate bar, and i discovered printed on the inside of the outer wrapper...a passage from something called The Alchemist's Notebook..which actually had nothing to do with alchemy per se...just a silly promotional device for the chocolate company.
i haven't started to read the article on Kunkin yet. if it turns out to contain anything very interesting, i'll start another thread and discuss it there.

Re: have you had alchemy-related synchronicities?
Sun, June 1, 2008 - 11:16 AMGreat subject, Holden. I love noticing these synchronicities. It's like the Universe is saying, "Checking signal. Test, test. Ahem, are you getting this?" For me the most recent one was reading Paul Levy's article that Iona shared and reading another reference to the Wounded Healer someplace else the same day, I forget where, possibly another tribe. -

Re: have you had alchemy-related synchronicities?
Mon, July 14, 2008 - 5:16 AMi am indebted to you Constance for resuscitating this most interesting thread. Can't help being struck by the fact that constance is a particularly Saturnian quality, linking neatly back to Nedloh's first synchronicity which has given me a flash of insight into renaissance understanding of saturn as liminal doorkeeper... gateway into matter as well as lord of karma.. -

Mon, July 14, 2008 - 1:22 PMFunny then how Saturn(Binah) lies above Geburah, but Geburah is a reflection of Chockmah in some ways.
And Constance, endurance could be said to be a Geburic trait. -

Absolutely. Synchronicity is the key to understanding the direction you should take in building your own private universe. Or so my HGA tells me.
Just a couple of weeks ago, I went to the library and picked up a couple of books I had placed on reserve there. I put them in my tote bag without looking too closely at them at the time. Then I went to a local used bookstore to browse their "Occult" section. It's poorly organized, the staff don't have the slightest understanding of the subject matter and tend to ignore the internal categories and just lump everything together, usually under "New Age." I found a book titled "Urban Shaman" and was looking at it, since I feel strongly drawn to that subject. Another browser noticed my interest in the book and told me it was an excellent text on the subject; it was devoted, he said to a discussion of Hawai'ian huna, another topic toward which I feel strongly attracted. So I bought the book.
When I got home with my purchases and my library books, I found that one of the library books I had picked up was an urban fantasy novel titled "Urban Shaman" So I had two books, acquired on the same day, with exactly the same title. That's not a mere hint, that was like a boot in the ass. I think I'm on the right track. Then for confirmation, I was reading Colin Wilson's "The Occult" earlier today and was intrigued to discover that he links the alchemical tradition directly back to shamanism in prehistoric times and regards the traditional shamanic gifts as skills once common and now nearly forgotten. So, it must be time for me to get to work, once I complete my initial studies of the art.
