Heh,
I showed this SECRETS OF ALCHEMY for Spiritual Cinema night at my metaphysical library last week.

It's sure different than the title implies - more like 2012 stuff. But just when he gets way out there in his interpretations he reigns it in and it makes sense, somehow ;)))

Has anyone else seen this or other alchemy dvds by the same man?
Or - what do you think of this premise on Fulcanelli?

In this visually compelling and thought-provoking documentary, author, scholar and modern-day Indiana Jones, Jay Weidner uncovers some of the deepest secrets of the ancient western tradition of Alchemy - the knowledge of the fatal season of the apocalypse, the end of time and the great and imminent transformation of humanity. Using the work of the mysterious twentieth century French Alchemist, Fulcanelli, as his foundation, and his discovery of a three hundred fifty year old Alchemical Cross in the South of France, Jay Weidner describes the experiences, insights and powerful evidence that opens the door to a new view of the intimate relationship between myth, history, science and the true destiny of humanity. In doing so, he reveals the ultimate meaning underlying the resurrection of Christ, the message of the Book of the Revelations, the vision of Ezekiel and the Kabbalistic concept of the "Restoration of the World."

Join him on this remarkable adventure as Jay Weidner journeys from the shores of Southern France through Alchemical Europe, Ancient Egypt and Peru, to decode the powerful and haunting message of the Great Cross of Hendaye.

Secrets of Alchemy - The Great Cross and the End of Time by Jay Weidner

    It does talk about The Star, The Sun, Judgement, etc tarot cards;
gamma ray explosions from the galactic core, and hiding in caves in Peru.
    An interesting journey.

Ok video of end times prophecy but not alchemy, April 23, 2006

Although the title is very misleading to me as a researcher of laboratory alchemy, the video is interesting and well thought out non the less.

It primarily focuses on the "Cross of Hendaye" found in france which was supposedly created by an unknown alchemist. After an incredibly thorough investigation into the symbology depicted on the cross Mr. Weidner concludes that it is warning us of an impending global/galactic disaster caused by the center of our galaxy exploding and spewing deadly dust onto the earth on or near 2012 which also happens to be the end of the mayan calendar.

His conclusions were very interesting but left many unanswered questions that seemed foolishly overlooked such as the massive distance measured in many light years from earth to the center of the galaxy. This distance is so vast that it would take hundreads of years simply for the light from such an explosion to reach us not to mention that the fallout from such a dust cloud would literally take thousands of years or more to reach earth. It just doesn't make any sense that such an event can occur here on earth in 2012 if caused by such an event. Its very strange to me that someone as intelligent and thorough as Mr. Weidner failed to explain this point at all.

Although his research is highly thought provoking, i find his conclusions are not well supported (at least not yet). The video is much more about end of the world prophecy than it is alchemy in any sense of the word.

    Excellent, researched and spell-binding, February 28, 2005

Jay Weidner has produced an excellent documentary, with high-quality visuals and a compelling flow that will keep you interested until the last minute. At the end of the DVD, I found myself thirsting for more. The only reason I didn't rate this 5 stars is because the visuals displayed a tendency towards redundancy.

"Secrets of Alchemy" explores the underlying "mystical" meaning of alchemy, as opposed to the commonly-held "literal" view of its purpose. Although the documentary leans towards interpreting the symbols on the "Cross of Hendaye," I felt as if Weidner was really trying to communicate profound mystical concepts inherent in an understanding of alchemy.

Well thought out with excellent story-telling, this DVD will not disappoint anyone on the road to enlightenment and meaning in a world seemingly devoid of both.

Beyond the Da Vinci Code, April 20, 2005

Recently I read the Da Vinci Code and my eyes were opened to a different view of the spiritual history of the West. In my opinion, Secrets of Alchemy does the Da Vinci Code one better because it is a true story.

In this documentary, we learn of a cross in a churchyard in the south of France that predicts the end of this age in which we live. Jay Weidner leads us through the experiences, outer circumstances and inner revelations, which helped him to crack the code on this cross. He tells us of his many adventures going from Hollywood to France to Egypt and Peru to follow this trail no matter where it leads him.

My friends and I have watched Secrets of Alchemy repeatedly now and each time its magical quality changes. Thanks to this documentary, I think that I have developed a greater understanding of what alchemy is all about. It helped me to finally comprehend why knowledge of the tarot, astrology, alternative history, mystical Christianity and the Kabbalah is so essential to understanding alchemy. Secrets of Alchemy has given me a lot to think about.

Interesting. I have not seen the DVD, however it deserves mention that the star Eta Carinae has been getting significant press lately -- en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eta_Carinae -- with scientists noting that it could hypernova at any moment, potentially sending a beam of dangerous gamma radiation at the earth.

Not exactly an explosion from the center of the universe, but it still makes one pause.

Is it a coincidence that Eta Carinae is surrounded by the so-called Homunculus nebula?

i saw this last year. while it gave me something to think about, it lost my interest at some point (during the film i found myself yawning) maybe because my own personal focus on things of late has shifted greatly away from 2012 being a specific date (though it is that too) rather than an experience at a particular point in time (unity or christ consciousness, depending on various spiritual factors and not necessarily predictable by a given date). it seems the pointing to something that is semi-significant and making a big hoo haa of it, or raving miracles, when its a regular event (its difficult to translate an epiphany, for good reason! evenso its a natural phenomemon) seems to be happening a lot lately. attention diversion is something to be cautious with in regard to alchemy and magick in general. (imo of course! we all gotta get a start off somewhere, i'm just in the question authority mode at this point, ya know?)
i found no alchemical secret there. ;)

what were some of the significant points any of you found intriguing? i would love to discuss and am open to having my mind blown away, lol!
